DocToTable - PDF to Excel Converter

Purchase Order to Excel Converter

Upload a PDF purchase order and get its line items as an editable spreadsheet: item, quantity, unit price, amount and delivery date in their own columns. Free, no signup, works with scanned orders.

Why convert purchase orders to Excel?

Purchase orders arrive as PDFs from suppliers and customers, but the work happens in spreadsheets and ERP systems: matching received goods against ordered quantities, comparing unit prices with the quote, entering the order into inventory, or building a delivery schedule from many open orders. Retyping line items is slow, and typing errors in quantities and prices are expensive.

DocToTable extracts the line-item table directly. Each item code, description, quantity, unit price, amount and delivery date goes into its own column.

How it works

  1. Upload the purchase order with the converter above, by drag and drop or file picker. No account needed.
  2. The table is detected. Column boundaries are recognised from the document itself, not from a supplier template. Scanned orders go through OCR.
  3. Preview and download. Check the rows in the browser, then export as Excel (XLSX) or CSV.

The first 2 pages in each of 3 finite browser previews convert free. Eligible accounts may receive 10 one-time page credits for longer orders. Documents up to 100 pages and 10 MB convert in one request; see pricing for larger volumes.

Common purchase order tasks

TaskWhat the spreadsheet gives you
Three-way matchingOrdered quantity and price per line next to the goods receipt and invoice
Open order trackingDelivery dates and outstanding quantities from many POs in one sheet
Price comparisonUnit prices per item across suppliers or over time
Inventory entryItem codes and quantities ready for a stock import
Customer order intakeYour customers' POs as rows for order entry

Tips for the best results

  • Multi-line descriptions: long item descriptions stay on one row with their quantity and amount. Check a few long lines in the preview.
  • Scanned POs: scan at 300 DPI or higher. OCR quality follows scan quality.
  • Totals check: SUM the amount column and compare it with the order total. Ten seconds catch most OCR slips.
  • Header fields: supplier, order date and PO number printed above the table are not table cells. Add them as columns in Excel if you combine several orders.
  • ERP import: export CSV when the importer expects plain text. Column mapping is done once in the importer.
